The Singapore Prize Awards – Celebrating Excellence in Hospitality

Gambling Feb 25, 2025

In a world that has become more connected and digital than ever before, the Singapore Prize honours people who strive to make our society better through their own efforts. Whether they have made breakthroughs in science, technology, arts or the social sector, they are rewarded for their contribution to our shared commons. In 2024, the Prize is opened to works in English (written or translated) published between 1 June 2021 and 31 May 2024, which have made a significant impact on our understanding of Singapore’s history. Works can be either non-fiction or fiction, and could address any time period, theme or field of Singaporean history, or include a substantial aspect of Singapore’s history within a wider narrative.

The annual prestigious awards ceremony is held in Singapore, with the top five winners receiving their trophy from a celebrity presenter, such as three-time Emmy winning actor and producer Sterling K. Brown. This year’s gala was hosted by Emmy Award winner Hannah Waddingham and feature performances from international superstars Bastille, OneRepublic and Bebe Rexha. Hollywood luminaries including Cate Blanchett, Lana Condor and Robert Irwin also attended to celebrate the inspiring stories of the 2023 Singapore Prize Finalists.

The awards were launched in 2014 as a sister programme to the Enterprise 50, which recognises owner-managers of private businesses that are driving economic development in Singapore and abroad. The entrepreneur awards are open to both local and foreign companies that have achieved significant growth in their business over the past 12 months, as well as those that have played a strategic role in helping advance Singapore’s ecosystem capabilities and international stature in their chosen field of business.

Those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and played a critical role in helping Singapore achieve international excellence in their chosen fields of expertise will be awarded the highest distinction – the President’s Pledge Award. Awarded by the Government of Singapore, the coveted accolade recognises an individual who has made distinguished and sustained contributions to developing Singapore’s economy, society and culture.
