Hong Kong Pools – The Best Places to Cool Off in the Heat

HK pools

In a city as densely packed as Hong Kong, there’s no shortage of fabulous swimming pools. There are public swimming pools, pools at residential complexes, pool in members’ clubs (and of course the ultimate – the ocean). And with summer around the corner, it’s time to hit the water.

Luckily, many of our hotels have their own swimming pools. A day pass to one of these allows you to enjoy a refreshing dip, spectacular views and top-notch facilities at a fraction of the price you’d pay to visit a crowded public pool.

Some of the best hk pools are tucked away in hotel spas, where you can swim and sip drinks by the pool while enjoying a level of privacy you’d never get at a public or government-run pool. So whether you’re after a day of laps or simply kicking back, these hotel pools are worth checking out.

At the heart of The Regent, Hong Kong’s first-ever rooftop infinity pool offers a unique vantage point over Victoria Harbour and all of its calming waters. The 25 meter-long pool is long enough for marathon-lapping in the morning, but it’s also perfect for relaxing. Plus, with an underwater speaker system and fiber optic lights – it’s the perfect spot to hang out at sunset with a cocktail in hand.

Designed by Terry Farrell and Partners, this spaceship-like building is a stunning addition to Hong Kong’s waterfront. It took eight years to complete, but opened in February along Victoria Harbor. The complex includes two indoor pools, three outdoor pools and a toddler’s pool with whimsical water installations like mushroom and tree-shaped fountains. It’s the largest pool in the city and was China’s first to use a translucent insulated tensile membrane (Tensotherm) developed by Birdair.

The main attraction here is the stunning panoramic view of Central. You can also enjoy a swim in the large 50 metre pool and soak up the sunshine on the loungers. The outdoor pool is open daily from 8am to 10pm and you can access the pool bar for snacks and drinks.

With a day pass, you can soak up the stunning vistas and take advantage of the facilities at this award-winning resort. It’s a great place for families, with a kids pool and waterslide and lots of fun things to do, including a lazy river and the spa. Plus, you’ll have access to the resort’s fitness centre and whirlpool. You’ll need to bring your own towel, goggles, a lock for your locker and shampoo. You’ll also need to sign a waiver before entering the water.
